Senior citizens - respectable with all gratitude!

 1. Senior citizens have their invaluable experience that they can impart to their younger generation.

2. They merge with the other people of their same age, coming out of the house to express their opinion and also to share their knowledge with people of all ages.

3. They go to the younger people by themselves to talk and share knowledge avoiding the hesitation in it.

4. They do not hesitate to help the younger people to help in their jobs that needs more time and energy to complete.

5. They move out of the house at evenings to meet their friends and relatives to exchange their views and news.

6. They share their knack and skill in their profession with the people of younger generation.

7. They select and do the work that are easier to do within their capacity, and enjoy in doing that work with total involvement and eagerness, and get satisfied after its completion.

8. Before accepting, they find out whether the work given by their younger generation is within their capacity, easier for them and pleasing for them or not. And they do not hesitate to refuse it also, if it is given under compulsion and is harder to do.

Appreciate God for signalling us!

When a person drives a car at night, traffic signals at junctions regulate road traffic and help him drive safely. But he doesn’t know how that signalling mechanism works. Or, he is least bothered about its working. Somehow it works for the good – that’s his attitude. Likewise, in our life God signals us for our safety and good existence. Some may want to know about this intricate mechanism of signalling for goodness, while others may not want to know about it. But this signalling goes on for free and forever in spite of our individual attitudes. One must realize, wonder about this, and appreciate God for this. This will cool/warm Him in return, as our gratitude to Him.

Mingle with society!

Do not feel alone - by making others alone! While getting and enjoying all the benefits of being inside or being with the human society, why should you seclude yourself from the other people of the society? Why shouldn't you come out, mingle and greet them in public places to show your gratitude? So, become cheerful and be cheerful by mingling with the people!

Express gratitude by visits and feel the God!

Greatness of a person/God shall be felt and appreciated only when we are near that person/God. So, we feel the "God's" presence and His greatness when we enter the temple. And in appreciating the "greatness" of the person, who has helped us at the time of need, we also feel the presence of God too out of it! So, the "God" and the "greatness" are equated here. Then, why shouldn't we visit temple and the person whenever we feel the greatness of that person? This is to express our gratitude and also to get the feel of  presence of God, doubly :)
17.08.2013:
Read here what I read recently and that Jagadh Guru Sri Chandrasekaraswamigal (Kaanchi Periavar) had advised all earlier in the past. I am wondering how his advice is the same as that I have posted above on 25.03.2013 in this blog post! (Click on the text to read maximized).
