In desisting from a habit of addiction, set strict limitations and enforce them on yourself; follow them and don’t relax or be lenient in it. As you become used to the existing limited level, make it still tighter and tighter by gradually shortening the period of indulgence in it - till you lose the intense interest in it. Thus you shall have now adjusted yourself to the totally refused level that you have now accepted and forgotten that habit itself totally. With this, you shall have also made others forget about your addiction through your standing firm against that habit forever in the future too.
